Why is it a good practice of the Person-Centered Model?
The aim is to enable students with disabilities complete their studies, and get trained especially on digital skills, that will equip them with those qualifications to overcome existing skilling gaps, considering the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. The outputs concentrate both on the development content of trainings and communication of results to distribution channels and associated stakeholders.
Integrated Assessment (Person, Family, Housing) and Life History
During the project, a survey was conducted in order to find out what difficulties higher education students with disabilities face during their studies. The purpose of the study is to explore how the suggested assistive technologies and training material and activities influence SwDs learning and being in the academic ecosystem and in this way, their academic achievement.
Personalised Care and Support Plan for the Life Project
After the survey the main conclusions obtained are as follows:1. Existing technologies are not sufficient or not adequately integrated in the learning system; 2.There is identified lack of infrastructures supporting physical accessibility; 3. Physical infrastructures and services should expand beyond direct learning classes; 4. Chronic Diseases (2nd most frequent disability) is often undermined, requiring more support; 5. On top of technologies and tools, training and motivating people to assist SwD is of critical .
Support groups
Learning assistance tools have been developed for students with autism, learning disability, visual impairment, hearing impairment, physical impairment. Training material is composed of the framework for the design of learning units, main training courses, a Guide on ICT realization and video training material.
Case Management and Resource Coordinator
The website contains useful theoretical and practical information for all participants in higher education, and other training institutes which can be used to ensure equal access to the digital field for students and employees with disability.
