Why is it a good practice of the Person-Centered Model?
The results of the project include the creation of products and services more adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, as well as an improvement in the user experience. The project also helped raise awareness among companies of the importance of co-design and universal design.
Integrated Assessment (Person, Family, Housing) and Life History
The APF Lab project approach is based on co-design, where people with disabilities are integrated into all phases of the design process. This includes defining requirements, designing prototypes, and user testing. The goal is to create solutions that meet specific user needs while promoting universal accessibility.
Support groups
the TechLab defends design for everyone and with everyone, while allowing companies to meet their extreme users, these users with extreme usage constraints which reveal the needs of the general public. The project also includes their caregivers and health professionals to find the most suitable solutions.
Case Management and Resource Coordinator
The APF Lab project is led by the Association des Paralysés de France (APF) and aims to promote co-design with people with disabilities. in collaboration with the Management Research Center of the École Polytechnique, member of the Interdisciplinary Institute of Innovation (UMR CNRS). Furthermore, the Resource Center develops privileged partnerships with higher education establishments in Hauts-de-France, notably Junia (ISEN and HEI), the École Centrale de Lille and the Hauts-de-France Polytechnic University of Valenciennes and participates in applied research projects in assistive technologies, in the supervision of internships and student projects, and in the development of innovative solutions meeting the needs of people with disabilities.
